More About Reading Together

MORE ABOUT READING TOGETHER

What is Reading Together?

Reading Together is for children in foster care aged between 7 and 9. It has been designed to help you become a good reader!

What does it involve?

Reading Together runs for six months. It has three parts:

  1. There are three parcels that are sent directly to you in the post. Each parcel includes three books for you to keep, forever!
  2. Your foster carer will spend some special time with you, each week, to read together. We will give them some help about how to do this!
  3. There is also this website where you can find out more information about the books and download lots of other cool stuff. You can also send us your views on the books and find out what other children think about them?

What books are in the parcels?

We have chosen three great books for you for the first parcel. We think you'll love them. Click here to find out more about these books.

What's really cool is that you get to pick which books you will be sent in the next two parcels! You will be sent information on the books you can choose from and you'll also be able to find details on the books by clicking here.

When will I get the book parcels?

If you are reading this, you may already have received your first book parcel. If not, you will get it very soon - usually within about a week.

Your second book parcel will be sent to you two months later and the third book parcel about two months after that!

What am I supposed to do with my foster carer?

You and your foster carer should read together at least three times each week. Each time should be for about 15 minutes and you can read any books you want. We have given your foster carer some information on how they can read with you to make it fun and a special time!

What if I have other questions?

If you have any other questions please do ask your foster carer.
