Friel Reimagined

Community Outreach

Bruiser Friel Workshop Nov 2021 Dungannon (32)
Partnerships around Northern Ireland
Engaging diverse audiences with Friel's work

Friel Reimagined is working with educational and community organisations to engage diverse audiences with Friel's work. Our community partners include Hazelwood Integrated College, Hydebank Secure College, STEP / Stronger Together and Belfast Interface Project.

Friel Reimagined Theatre Partner

Professional and experienced facilitators from Bruiser Theatre Company lead the community outreach workshops.

Across four workshop sessions, participants try out physical theatre, explore the themes of Friel's plays, devise their own creative ideas and share their work with the group. Bruiser's approach involves everyone, so participants don't need prior acting experience or knowledge of drama to enjoy the workshops. Bruiser produce theatre that is exciting, innovative, and accessible to all. The company uses minimal set for maximum impact, ensuring the actor is the central mechanism of performance.

A fantastic four weeks - delving into the themes of the play and the ‘red thread’ that connects us all was insightful and at times very emotional.
