Baseline and Review Assessments
The descriptors table can be used as a basis for awareness-raising, sharing information and ideas, action as part of a baseline or review assessment.
This is of most use when you want to identify an area of focus – a park, a community, a plan, a neighbourhood, a particular demographic…
Start by considering each factor. Is it a significant positive or negative issue/influence, or is it not relevant/applicable.
You can approach this in several ways:
- Do this exercise as a one-off e.g. as part of a planning stage or for end-of-project learning.
- Repeat the exercise at key points; use it as a tool for monitoring progress.
- Use this with different localities, policies etc. Compare and contrast results.
