Centre d’Economie Rurale (CER) is a Belgian accredited laboratory for the detection of residues (hormones, antibiotics and corticosteroids). The production of immunological reagents is a specialty of CER. CER has an important infrastructure for the production of polyclonal antibodies on various animal species and has produced these reagents for biotechnologies companies and the pharmaceutical industry for more than twenty years.

Forsite Diagnostics Ltd (FDL) is an SME dedicated to the development and manufacture of lateral flow immunoassays. The company was formed in January 2007 as a spin out from the then Central Science Laboratory (CSL), York, UK, an executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. Private investment allowed Forsite to equip itself with state of the art in-line manufacturing machines for lateral flow assays, giving the company highly-prized capabilities. Forsite is building a strong international reputation as a contract service provider for the healthcare sector, and has recently acquired ISO13485 accreditation for the development and manufacture of lateral flow assays.

Laboratoire d’EtuLaboratoire d’Etude des Résidus et Contaminants dans les Aliments (LABERCA) is a public laboratory located at the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire, Agroalimentaire et de l’Alimentation Nantes Atlantique (ONIRIS), under the control of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fishing and Rural Affairs. It was designated as National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for growth promoters as well as for dioxins, PCB’s and PAH’s. Research activities of LABERCA are mainly the development of hyphenated analytical methods dedicated to residue analysis at trace levels, and more precisely all techniques involving mass spectrometry.
