- Audience: Postdocs and research staff at Queen's. This course will be facilitated by the QUB Open Research Team. Postdocs from all QUB faculties are welcome.

This one-hour course is designed to give a practical guide to uploading your research on to the Pure system and also give a brief context to open access publishing. This course looks at the following questions:
- Open access publishing, what is it?
- Open access at QUB, where can I find support for this?
- What is Pure?
- Who uses it?
- Why is it important?
- How do I customise my profile?
Programme Objectives
This course will provide guidance on:
- What open access publishing is and how this may affect you and your research.
- Understand what support is available at QUB for open access.
- There is also a practical element to this workshop and there will be a demonstration of how to upload to pure, this involves looking at template types, attaching documents and guidance on copyright and licensing issues.

Rebecca Clarke
Rebecca is an Open Research Librarian in Information Services, the McClay Library, Queen's University Belfast.
Rebecca has been working in the field of open access for the last six years and is most interested in open access publishing and copyright. She is especially looking at how these are adapted in response to funder mandates.
