Delivering clinical trials – from protocol to patient
This short course offers a practical introduction to planning and delivering clinical trials, designed for participants from diverse disciplines. Delivered across three months, it emphasises participant safety, regulatory compliance, and research integrity through tutorials, workshops, and self-directed learning. Participants will gain hands-on expertise in trial protocols, while exploring the UK and Northern Ireland’s research infrastructure.
Intended to build a globally competitive clinical trial ecosystem, the course equips attendees with the skills and confidence to deliver impactful trials that enhance patient outcomes.
Two additional clinical trials modules have also been commissioned:
Module 2A - Developing the skills to become a good Principal Investigator/Chief Investigator.
This module will introduce established clinical trialists who wish to upskill to successfully lead and deliver clinical trials as a principal investigator (PI) or chief investigator (CI).
Module 2B - Delivering trials with modern methodologies.
This module will introduce established clinical trialists to several novel trial methodologies including platform, basket and umbrella trials and provide them with the tools and expertise to plan and deliver such novel trials.
