Evaluability Assessment
Over the last three years, GroundsWell have partnered with Wirral Council to explore evaluation options for understanding the impact of this new urban green space. Following an Evaluability Assessment, where stakeholders took part in two interactive workshops, the partners agreed evaluation priorities and three research questions:
1. What is the wider impact of Dock Branch Park?
2. Does Dock Branch Park benefit those who may need it most?
3. What is the extent of community engagement, acceptability, and empowerment in the regeneration programme?
To respond to research questions 1 and 2, GroundsWell data experts are working with the Council’s Public Health Intelligence Team to monitor administrative health and environmental data, and to produce a protocol for long-term monitoring as the urban green and blue space regeneration of Birkenhead continues over the next 15 years, in line with the 2040 framework.
