We were honoured to welcome UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, along with British Ambassador to Ireland Paul Johnston, to the Co-Centre for Climate + Biodiversity + Water at Trinity College Dublin. This visit highlighted the growing importance of international partnerships in tackling climate and environmental challenges through research, innovation, and policy collaboration.

The Climate+ Co-Centre, a joint initiative between the UK and Ireland, brings together leading researchers from both countries to develop effective responses to issues related to climate, biodiversity, and water. Foreign Secretary Lammy emphasised the UK's commitment to a close partnership with Ireland in tackling shared climate challenges and promoting climate-conscious growth in both nations.

During his visit, Foreign Secretary Lammy met with former Irish President Mary Robinson, who serves as an Adjunct Professor for Climate Justice at Trinity College. They underscored the significant connections between climate action, policy development, and international relations, placing special emphasis on the Climate+ Co-Centre's Policy Response Unit. This unit is committed to providing cross-jurisdictional evidence-based policy responses to urgent issues related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and water degradation.

We are proud to contribute to multilateral efforts that strengthen the connection between scientific research and global policy, working towards a sustainable future for our communities.
