New inclusive software now available for all Queen’s staff and their families
As part of the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and supportive workplace, we’re pleased to announce that all Queen’s staff – and their families – now have free access to Read&Write for Work.

This powerful software, generously donated to our university community as an in-kind philanthropic gift from Everway, will support over 4,000 staff members and their families in working more effectively by accommodating different learning needs and working styles, both in the workplace and at home.
Originally developed to assist neurodivergent users – including those with dyslexia – Read&Write for Work offers a suite of discreet, user-friendly tools for reading, writing, and communication. Its flexible features, such as text-to-speech, dictation, screen masking, and more, are designed to help individuals of all abilities think, learn, and work more efficiently.
Already available to our students, this gift will further enhance inclusion by giving our staff access to resources to help them and their families reach their full potential.
Professor Sir Ian Greer, President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University, said:
“We are honoured to receive such a generous gift from Everway, which will not only benefit our staff but also their families. Queen’s is one of the largest employers in Northern Ireland, and our greatest asset is our staff and students. Already available to students, this gift will further enhance our focus on diversity and inclusion by giving our staff access to vital resources to help them, and their families, to reach their full potential.”
