Queen’s Reboot Café wins Innovation in Student Experience Award at the CUBO Awards
Reboot Café, a vibrant social and wellbeing gaming hub located in the heart of Queen’s University Belfast, has been awarded the prestigious Innovation in Student Experience Award at the 2025 CUBO Awards held on 11 June.

The CUBO Awards (College and University Business Officers Awards), celebrate excellence, creativity, and innovation in student and campus services, recognising institutions that lead the way in delivering exceptional campus experiences.
Since opening last year, Reboot Café has become a vibrant, inclusive hub where Queen’s students and members of the public can unwind, connect, play games, and socialise in a warm and welcoming environment.
This national recognition highlights Reboot Café’s creative and student-centred approach to enhancing campus life through inclusive design, purpose-led programming, and a strong emphasis on wellbeing and community.
The recent award adds to Reboot Café’s impressive winning streak, following its success at the 2025 Public Sector Catering Awards, where the Café scooped the Innovation Award at the London Hilton Metropole on 24 April.
Reflecting on the award win, Kelly Hart, Campus Food and Drink Manager at Queen's, said:
“We are really delighted with this award, the fact that we were best in the UK shows that we have developed a concept that is unique and is focused on the student experience. Reboot was developed through strong cross-university collaboration, with valuable contributions from the Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science team at Queen’s, as well as the Estates department.
“The Cafe is popular with students and is also attracting the local community which is great and is proving really popular for children's birthday parties, and private hire esports tournaments at the weekend. We have a great team of staff, including two placement students from EEECS, and they are pleased their hard work is being recognised”.
